In terms of design, the company has introduced a new design language for its latest entry-level hatchback. It looks bolder, with a wider and taller grill up front, while the bumper looks sharper, giving it a more defined front end. The new Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 looks more angular than before, with a prominent rear rump, the same as we saw on the new Maruti Suzuki Celerio. A more sculpted tailgate and larger greenhouse are some of the new design changes you’ll notice right away compared to the current model’s flat and upright units.
Inside, the new Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 has received a massive overhaul in terms of design and technology. In addition to a redesigned dashboard, instrument cluster and steering wheel, the new Maruti Suzuki Alto also features a 7.0-inch SmartPlay Studio infotainment system with navigation, Apple CarPlay and Andriod Auto connectivity. Other features include steering wheel-mounted audio controls, power exterior mirrors (ORVM) and keyless entry, among others.
In terms of powertrain, Maruti Suzuki supplies the Alto K10 with a proven K-series 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine that produces 67 hp at 5500 rpm and a maximum torque of 89 Nm at 3500 rpm. The engine comes standard with a five-speed manual transmission, while the company also offers an AGS or AMT unit as well as the new Maruti Suzuki Alto K10. The manual iteration of the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 has a claimed fuel economy of 24.39 kmpl, while the AGS is slightly better at 24.90 kmpl. The new Maruti Suzuki Alto k10 competes with the Renault Kwid in the Indian market, but also with the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso and Celerio.
