Apple may be planning to deprecate some iPod models later this month. The tech giant likes to ditch the latest iPod nano, some models of the latest iPod shuffle, and fifth-generation iPod touch models. The iPod shuffle models will be deprecated on September 30 along with the seventh-generation iPod nano and fifth-generation iPod touch, according to MacRumors.
Apple has deprecated the 16GB fifth-generation iPod to touch model and plans to add 32GB and 64GB models to the list later this month. The tech giant completely discontinued the iPod nano and iPod shuffle in 2017. The iPod touch was still available until earlier this year.
When the iPod touch was discontinued, Apple’s marketing chief Greg Joswiak said the “spirit of iPod lives on” across other Apple products, including the iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple TV, and HomePod mini.
