Gurgaon-based Benling India has the Believe long-range electric scooter in India, priced at Rs 97,520 pre-showroom. The company said the electric scooter, which was developed specifically for the road conditions in India, will be distributed through its 350 dealers in 22 states and 160 cities across the country. The electric car maker has also introduced a new generation of batteries – LFP (lithium iron phosphate) – for its new models. The product will be available in all showrooms from August 25, 2022.
The Believe high-speed electric scooter is available in six colors – yellow, blue, black, white, purple and magic gray. Equipped with intelligent roadside assist technology, the model offers a range of 25km in the event of a breakdown, compared to the advertised range of 120km on a full charge. This electric scooter features a removable LFP battery that powers a waterproof 3.2kW BLDC motor.
It weighs 248kg and has a top speed of 75km/h. The LFP battery pack features a tiny charger and an automatic shut-off system, allowing it to fully charge in about four hours. It also offers keyless start, multiple speed modes, anti-theft alarm, regenerative braking, mobile app connectivity, parking assist, mobile charging and real-time tracking. The electric scooter has a payload of 250kg and has disc brakes front and rear. This model is also ARAI/ICAT certified.
The company is set to launch 3,000 Believe electric scooters within a month, while another 9,000 will be ready by November. Benling India also plans to further expand its production capacity. Benling Believe is manufactured in Manesar, Haryana, which has a factory with a total annual capacity of 300,000.The company has already scheduled for 1.20 lakh deliveries in FY 2023 and at present, it assembles three electric two-wheeler models in both high-speed and slow-speed segments.
