The company could also release iOS 16 and watchOS 9 at the event, which are upcoming OS updates for eligible iPhone and Apple Watch models.
Apple was invited to the “Far Out” event on Wednesday, September 7th. The company plans to broadcast the event live on September 7 at 10:00AM PT (10:30PM EST) at the Steve Jobs Theater in Apple Park, Cupertino, California.
September 7 Apple event: what to expect
The highlight of the event will be the launch of the iPhone 14 series. Apple is suggested to release the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 mini, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max on September 7. According to reports, Apple may replace the iPhone 14 Max’s 5.4-inch mini form factor with a 6.7-inch display. Additionally, the Pro models should feature the new Apple A16 Bionic chip. Meanwhile, the non-Pro version could be powered by the current A15 Bionic chip. iOS 16, the company’s latest version of the iPhone operating system, is also likely to be released during the event.
The Cupertino-based company tends to launch new iPhone models alongside other products, a trend expected to continue at this year’s event. Apple has hints for the iPad 10.2 (10th generation), iPad Pro 12.9 (6th generation), and iPad Pro 11 (4th generation) during this event. Lower-end iPad models may feature an Apple A14 chip and a USB Type-C port. On the other hand, the iPad Pro models are believed to be powered by the M2 chip.
Three new Apple Watch Series 8 models are also said to be in the works. The standard may come with new women’s health features and temperature sensors. This model is said to have a similar design to the Watch Series 7. A Pro model is said to be planned, which could be aimed at sports enthusiasts. Affordable Apple Watch SE models could also debut.
