Ola Electric founder and CEO Bhavish Aggarwal on Monday announced a $500 million investment to build one of the world’s largest state-of-the-art Battery Innovation Centres (BICs) in Bengaluru.

The battery innovation center in Bengaluru will be one of the largest and most advanced battery research and development (R&D) facilities in Asia, with more than 165 “unique and state-of-the-art” laboratory facilities covering all aspects of the cell, according to Ola Electric’s CEO. aspect.

Aggarwal added that the BIC will employ top global talent, including more than 500 engineers and PhD students, and the facility will be operational next month.

Along with the announcement, Aggarwal also shared a video clip detailing the upcoming Cell Innovation Facility, which will be the largest cell R&D facility in Asia.
