The election of India’s 15th president takes place at the Parliament House and state assemblies. Voting begins at 10 am and runs until 5 pm. NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu is significantly better than Opposition candidate Yashwant Sinha.
Former Jharkhand governor Draupadi Murmu is an NDA candidate, while former federal minister Yashwant Sinha is running for the top job as an opposition coalition candidate.
The results will be announced on July 21 and the next president will be sworn in on July 25 as President Ram Nath Kovind’s term ends on July 24.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi was one of the first to vote in parliament as polls began on Monday in the presidential election pitting NDA candidate Droupadi Murmu against coalition opposition candidate Yashwant Sinha.
