Launched in India on Thursday, the Realme 9i 5G is the company’s latest affordable smartphone. The phone features a 6.6-inch display, 90Hz refresh rate, MediaTek Dimensity 810 SoC, 50MP triple rear camera setup, and a 5,000mAh battery. Realme says the smartphone comes with Dynamic RAM Expansion technology, which increases virtual RAM to improve app responsiveness. It also has a retro CD theme with reflective textures. Realme has revealed some specifications ahead of the launch.
Realme 9i 5G price, availability
The Realme 9i 5G is priced at Rs 14,999 (base 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant) and Rs 16,999 (6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant) in India. The company offers the phone in Rs. 1,000 HDFC bank rebates are Rs 13,999 and Rs 14,999 respectively. The Realme smartphone will go on sale on August 24th at 12 noon in Metallica Gold, Rocking Black and Soulful Blue colour options.

The dual SIM (nano) Realme 9i 5G runs Realme UI 3.0 based on Android 12. It features a 6.6-inch Full HD+ (1080 x 2400) display with a 90Hz refresh rate and 400 nits of brightness. Under the hood, the smartphone features a MediaTek Dimensity 810 5G SoC with 8 cores paired with up to 6 GB of RAM.
For photos and videos, the Realme 9i 5G comes with triple rear cameras. There’s a 50-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture lens, a portrait shooter, and a macro camera. The smartphone has an 8-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture for selfies and video calls.
Realme 9i 5G has up to 128 GB of storage, expandable via microSD card (up to 1 TB). Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.2, GPS/AGPS and a USB Type-C port. Vehicle sensors include magnetic induction sensors, light sensors, proximity sensors and acceleration sensors.
The Realme 9i 5G comes with a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging technology. The phone also has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. It measures 164.4 x 75.1 x 8.1 mm and weighs 187 grams.
