Swedish music streaming platform Spotify is working on a new feature that will allow users to post audio comments or reactions to music playlists.
The Spotify experiment was first spotted by a Reddit user in Vietnam, The Verge reports.
“So what do you think? Record an episode to share your thoughts on a playlist,” reads UI.
Below the notification is a record button to start recording.
There are also some simple editing options, such as adding background music and tags.
The report states that the React feature appears to be accessible via the microphone icon on the playlist page.
“We are currently conducting limited testing of in-app audio creation, but have no further details to share at this time,” the company was quoted as saying.
Spotify is also experimenting with allowing users to record and publish podcasts directly from the app.
The music streaming giant unveiled a new home screen design for its mobile app last week with a feed of music, podcasts and shows.
The company says the feature is currently rolling out to Android users and will soon be available for iOS.
In the music feed, listeners can quickly access suggestions based on their musical tastes, making it easier than ever to discover new favorites.
There will also be album and playlist recommendations, as well as buttons for instant sharing, liking, and playing music.
In the podcast and show feed, listeners can skip directly to new episodes of their favorite shows.
