The month of Sawan is Lord Bholenath’s favourite month. During the month of fasting on Monday, Lord Shiva and Mata Parvati are worshipped and all possible wishes will soon be fulfilled. Lord Bholenath will surely satisfy every wish by fasting on sixteen Mondays.
In Sawan 2022, the first fast of Monday is being observed on 18th July i.e. today. According to the beliefs, worshiping Lord Shiva Shankar in this month removes all the troubles forever. According to the scriptures, the month of Sawan is very dear to Bholenath. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, this month is very auspicious. It is said that the devotee who worships Bholenath in this month with a sincere heart, he always remains happy.
Belpatra is very dear to Lord Shiva. For this reason, Belpatra is definitely offered in Shiva worship. Some rules for offering Belpatra have also been told in the scriptures. Following which the worship of Lord Shiva is considered successful. Always offer Belpatra to Lord Shiva only by touching the opposite side of the Belpatra i.e. the smooth surface side.
Always offer Belpatra with the help of ring finger, thumb and middle finger and hold the middle leaf and offer it to Shiva. Never offer only Bilva leaves to Lord Shiva, definitely offer a stream of water along with Bel leaves. Only three leaves of Belpatra are offered to Lord Shiva. Never offer cut leaves.
Breaking Belpatra is prohibited on some dates. For example, on Chaturthi, Ashtami, Navami, Chaturdashi and Amavasya, Bel leaves should not be broken during Sankranti and on Mondays. In such a situation, a day before the worship, the bel leaves are broken and kept. Belpatra is never impure. Bel leaves that have already been offered can also be washed again and offered.
